Sir Robert McAlpine are the routine operations andmaintenance contractor, based in Dumfries & Galloway, for thesection of the A74(M) / M74 between the Border at J22 and Junction12.
Highways Operative Role (M6DBFO)
- Team: M6DBFO
- Location: SRM Crawford Depot, Stoneyburn, Crawford, ML126TW
- Shifts: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30. Friday 08:00 –15:30. 24-hour standby rota and winter maintenance on a shiftbasis. Some overtime may be required.
- Primary role is to maintain theproject road through proactive maintenance works to include, butnot limited to, checking and clearing drainage channels, vegetationmanagement, litter picking.
- Secondary role is to be1st responder to any incident on the M6DBFO network, assisting emergency services & recoveryoperators, deploying emergency lane/road closures, making everybodysafe and clearing the carriageway as quickly as practicable to keeptraffic flowing.
- Working on the highway is a manual job which requires areasonable level of agility and fitness.
YourProfile:
- The successful candidate must havean LGV C2 Driving Licence with up-to-date DriverCPC.
- Hold a CSCS card (desirable).
- Must be able to attend anyincident within 60 minutes of a call. So reasonable proximity tothe depot is required.
- Experience of traffic managementan advantage.
