Summary
We’re looking for a Welcome and Service Team Member! As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £10,335 per annum pro rata (based on a full-time equivalent of £25,837.50 per annum)
Contract Duration: Permanent
Working Hours: 780 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
Working Pattern: You will work 780 hours per year, which is roughly 2-3 days a week. You will work more hours during our busier periods and fewer hours during our quieter times. This role involves working Bank Holidays, school holidays, weekends and everything in between. Flexibility is essential, and we will always give as much notice as we can.

What it’s like to work here
Castle Ward is an historic walled estate that sits on the shores of Strangford Lough. It has miles of multi-use trails, gardens and the famous double-sided mansion. The estate has been home to 8 generations of the Ward family and, as such, there are many fascinating stories to share with our visitors of all ages and backgrounds, along with new history being made every day!
Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 7 working at Castle Ward within the County Down portfolio. Giving our visitors the best service and enabling them to have great visits while creating memories with their loved ones.. You’ll be working as a team, and will be driven by our fundraising goals to generate income for our property.
Your days will be based either in the Admission Hut or Reception, and no two days are the same! There’ll be talking, cleaning, topping up literature, preparation of mobility scooters – the list goes on!
What you’ll be doing
Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion – no two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
