Head of Faculty – Languages (September 2026)

We are seeking an outstanding Head of Languages to outline a compelling vision for future development, lead a vibrant and successful team, and develop our rich curriculum offer of French and Spanish from KS3 to KS5, making a sustained impact on student progress and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a forward‑looking vision for the Languages faculty.
• Lead and mentor a team of language teachers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Design and deliver a high‑quality curriculum in French and Spanish from KS3 to KS5.
• Use evidence‑based strategies to improve student progress and attainment.
• Collaborate with other departments on interdisciplinary projects.
• Provide instructional coaching and support to teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified teacher with QTS for secondary teaching.
• Qualified to at least degree level in a language subject and/or hold good A Levels.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence and evidence of leadership experience.
• Successful track record of working with young people to secure best outcomes.
• Team‑spirited and prepared to go above and beyond to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of new curriculum demands and proven creative methods to deliver exceptional language provision.
