Responsibilities

  • Motivate and support service users in the early stages of admission into secure services.
  • Work within the ward to support service users’ admission and progression, developing innovative ways to engage those with complex needs.
  • Assess service users prior to admission, including in external settings, and set them up for their journey through secure care.
  • Represent the occupational therapy profession and act as a role model of trauma‑informed care, reflecting the values of the secure service and wider organisation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary leadership teams (psychiatrist, nurse manager, psychologist, matron) to deliver a responsive, safe and compassionate service.
  • Provide patient‑centred, evidence‑based care and embed the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) within the team.
  • Enhance the occupational therapy pathway across the secure care occupational therapy service.
  • Address inequalities such as employment, education and physical health in line with service and trust strategies.

Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the HCPC (or willingness to register)
  • Postgraduate training or evidence of leadership/management experience

Experience

  • Evidence of CPD portfolio usage
  • Evidence of research activities

Salary

£49,387 to £56,515 per annum, pro rata
