Responsibilities
- Motivate and support service users in the early stages of admission into secure services.
- Work within the ward to support service users’ admission and progression, developing innovative ways to engage those with complex needs.
- Assess service users prior to admission, including in external settings, and set them up for their journey through secure care.
- Represent the occupational therapy profession and act as a role model of trauma‑informed care, reflecting the values of the secure service and wider organisation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary leadership teams (psychiatrist, nurse manager, psychologist, matron) to deliver a responsive, safe and compassionate service.
- Provide patient‑centred, evidence‑based care and embed the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) within the team.
- Enhance the occupational therapy pathway across the secure care occupational therapy service.
- Address inequalities such as employment, education and physical health in line with service and trust strategies.
Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with the HCPC (or willingness to register)
- Postgraduate training or evidence of leadership/management experience
Experience
- Evidence of CPD portfolio usage
- Evidence of research activities
Salary
£49,387 to £56,515 per annum, pro rata
