Role Overview
This is a companionship‑focused role, providing emotional reassurance, a calming presence, and light practical support within the home and on short local walks. The position is not medically intensive but requires patience, understanding, and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and reassurance when the client is alone.
- Support the client during anxiety and panic episodes in a calm, reassuring manner.
- Accompany on short walks locally, including walks with the client’s dog.
- Assist in maintaining a relaxed, structured environment.
- Be a trusted, friendly presence to help build confidence and independence over time.
Essential Requirements
- Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car.
- Kind, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Reliable and trustworthy, with a calm demeanor.
- Comfortable with dogs and cats.
- Good communication skills and ability to build trust.
Desirable
- Experience with anxiety disorders or mental health support (preferred but not essential).
- Flexible availability.
Hours & Pay
- Flexible, part‑time hours (primarily when the client’s spouse is out of the home).
- Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
