An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to work within our Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
As part of the Physiotherapy department, you will be joining a big supportive team passionate about caring for the residents of East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to attend an in-service training programme and complete supervision sessions with your line manager. You will also work closely alongside the IDT Occupational Therapy team and the wider multi-disciplinary team, including our newly appointed Advanced Practitioner to the team.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role you will work with a team of Physiotherapists providing a high level of assessment and rehabilitation to the patients of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust; including Frailty, General medicine and palliative care.
You will be required to work alongside the Physiotherapists and also autonomously carrying out exercise programmes, maintenance programmes and rehabilitation sessions planned by a Physiotherapist.
You will be responsible for completing data inputting and assisting with the ordering of equipment through the Millbrook system to ensure timely discharge for patients across the trust.

Qualifications
- GCSE grade 4 or GCSE C and above
- Level 2 functional skills or health care support worker apprenticeship / NVQ level 2 in relevant subject
- Level 3 apprenticeship for example senior health care support worker or similar and / or NVQ level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Experience
- Experience in health or social care settings such as employment, work experience volunteering or placements
- Demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development
Skills
- Demonstrating respect, kindness and empathy at all times
- Understanding of role boundaries and the importance of supervision and carrying out appropriately delegated tasks.
- Able to understand and follow procedures protocols and plans
