Behaviour Support Worker

Overview

Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker (Year 2 Pupil)

Location: Wakefield/Leeds area

Hours: Afternoons only, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil in a primary school setting. This role is ideal for someone with patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support during afternoon sessions
• Implement behaviour strategies and support plans
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil
• Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to support progress
• Promote a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

• Experience working with children, ideally with behavioural or additional needs
• Calm, patient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
