Who We’re Looking For
- Motivated Occupational Therapists who are passionate about acute physical health
- Work well in multidisciplinary teams
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused care
- Are eager to learn and progress
- Can provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP
Responsibilities
- Carry out assessments and treatments using a variety of modalities, including physical, cognitive, perceptual, and psychological interventions
- Evaluate and modify treatment plans in line with patient needs
- Ensure accurate documentation and recording of all interventions and outcomes
- Hold responsibility for own caseload within a defined area of the service, with senior staff support, and eventually work without direct supervision
- Support patient flow through timely discharge planning and linkage with community services
- Work in accordance with RCOT & HCPC rules of professional conduct and within local care pathways, policies and standards
- Professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities and manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times
- Maintain a professional evidence‑based portfolio, meeting HCPC requirements and keeping up to date with Occupational Therapy practice to establish and maintain competence
- Review and reflect on own practice and performance, and make effective use of professional and operational supervision and annual review; undertake supervision of others as agreed
- Work as an autonomous member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programmes and service improvements
- Supervise and write assessments for Occupational Therapy students on practice placement within the Trust
- Demonstrate a good understanding and application of national guidelines and legislation relating to health and social care in service provision
- Critically evaluate current research, apply to practice and disseminate findings locally; widen research and development skills through participation in local audit and research projects
