Sterile Services Technician Decontamination – Radlett

Working Hours and Salary

37.5 hours per week; permanent salary up to £28,705.42 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

Overview

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join our Decontamination department. This is a full‑time role for 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern covering days and nights as required. Candidates must be available to work 14:00‑22:00, five days a week, and the unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all stages of the decontamination process including cleaning, checking, assembling, packing, sterilising, and dispatching reusable surgical and medical devices.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all items meet required infection control and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all processes undertaken, including batch and load traceability data, in line with departmental documentation requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective team performance and meet service deadlines.
  • Participate in all mandatory training and professional development required for the role.
  • Stay up to date with all departmental procedures, safety protocols, and updates in decontamination standards.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures precisely.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends, evenings, and shifts as needed.

  • Good communication skills and a professional, respectful approach to others.
  • Full compliance with mandatory training and health screening, including HepatitisB immunisation (required for this role).
