Care & Support Worker – Permanent

Location: St Margarets Court, Greenock, Inverclyde PA16 7AL

  • Hourly Rate: £14.04 per hour
  • Availability: Flexible shifts (morning and back shifts) including weekends
  • Guaranteed Hours: 2 roles at 19.5 hours and 25.5 hours per week respectively, worked over average 4 days on a rolling 2‑week rota basis with a mixture of weekdays and weekends, day shifts and back shifts
  • Job Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Support older and vulnerable adults in their own homes, assisting with daily living tasks based on individual care plans
  • Administer medication, provide personal support, and help with meals as required
  • Operate between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, seven days a week
  • Build trusting relationships with residents and offer care in the way they prefer

Ideal Candidate – Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the care sector working with older people or other vulnerable members of a community
  • SVQ in Health and Social Care or a relevant qualification
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Previous experience preferred but not essential; comprehensive training and support are provided
  • Passion, empathy, and dedication to helping tenants live their lives to the fullest

  • Register with the SSSC and complete mandatory training within the required timeframe
  • Commitment to studying for an SVQ in Care & Support if not already held
