Lead Pharmacy Technician – Projects & Supplies, Band 6

Hybrid role based primarily at Medicines Supply Hub, Ribbleton, Preston, with additional work‑from‑home and other NWAS sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead medicines‑related projects across the trust and support governance of medicines management in the Medicines Supply Hub.
  • Provide training and education to team members and operational ambulance staff, including undergraduate paramedic trainees.
  • Design and carry out audits to ensure compliance with regulations and internal processes, and report findings to senior management.
  • Analyse complex data and produce concise high‑level reports for multiple audiences.
  • Manage project plans, engage stakeholders and deliver projects to a high standard.
  • Work autonomously across a wide geographic area, travelling long distances as required, while maintaining effective collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the non‑patient‑facing medicines team alongside pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and medicines assistants.

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant medicines legislation, regulations and their application to assess compliance.
  • Project management experience, including planning, stakeholder engagement and delivery.
  • Analytical skills to summarise data into clear reports for varied audiences.
  • Exceptional organisational, written and verbal communication skills with a can‑do leadership attitude.
  • Experience as an educator/train‑er to drive excellence in medicines management.
  • Capacity to travel and work independently across the organisation.

Permanent role based at the NWAS Medicine Supply Hub site in Preston, requiring at least two days per week on site and occasional Saturdays (approximately four per year).
