The Role This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step in their career. As Assistant Accountant you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting with management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will work closely with a supportive finance team and gain broad exposure across the business. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Process and post journals accurately and to deadlines Support with VAT returns and other statutory submissions Manage purchase ledger and sales ledger functions Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Produce regular financial reports for internal stakeholders Support the month-end and year-end close process Liaise with internal teams to resolve finance queries efficiently What You’ll Need Essential: Previous experience in a finance or accounts role Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Nice to Have: AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA Experience with Sage, Xero or QuickBooks Exposure to management accounts preparation Why Apply?
