Complex Care Support Worker
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care while promoting dignity and independence.
- Provide safe moving and handling support using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Support with medication administration in line with care plans and company policies.
- Carry out clinical interventions following specialist training and competency assessments, including:
- Trachestomy care and suctioning
- Ventilatr monitoring and support
- PEG feeding and medicatin administration
- Mnitoring observations and reporting concerns
- Observe and report changes in an individual’s physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, incident reports, and daily documentation ensuring safeguarding procedures are following and reporting any concerns or changes appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 1 years’ experience supporting individuals with complex care needs in a home care, community, or residential setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with conditions such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, tracheostomy care, ventilation support, and PEG feeding.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, dignity, and promoting independence.
- Confident in delivering personal care, moving and handling, and following detailed care plans and clinical protocols.
- Excellent communication, observation, and teamwork skills with the ability to respond calmly in challenging situations.
- Compassionate, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Must drive and have business insurance.
