Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the children and young people’s eating disorder service in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialist occupational therapy within the children’s and young people’s eating disorder service.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary community team, liaising with occupational therapy and other staff across inpatient and community services.
  • Lead on matters related to occupational therapy, including clinical prioritization, organization, delivery and further development of OT provision.
  • Participate in service development and delivery across initiatives within the eating disorder pathway (CAMHS outpatient, intensive outreach and ARFID).
  • Play a role in local strategic development of ARFID provision and support innovation, evaluation, improvement and research.
  • Support the team leader, clinical and professional leads with delegated parts of service improvement projects and audits.
  • Work autonomously and supervise and support designated staff.

Qualifications

  • Band 7 qualified occupational therapist with relevant clinical and professional expertise.
  • Extensive experience working with children and families in mental health settings.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration theory and approaches, or a commitment to gaining this through available training opportunities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, lead multidisciplinary teams and supervise staff.
