Deputy Team Leader / Senior Support Worker

Remuneration

  • £17.00 per hour Mondays to Fridays and waking nights
  • £19.00 per hour on weekend days and bank holidays
  • £12.71 per hour sleeping nights Monday to Thursday (11 pm–7 am)
  • £13.71 per hour sleeping nights Friday to Sunday and bank holidays (11 pm–7 am)
  • £31.20 per shift on standby

Days & Hours

Up to 128 hours per 4‑week cycle (average 36 hours per week). Flexibility may be required for start/finish times. Participation in the on‑call rota with the Team Leader and Nurse Advisor. Part‑time applications accepted.

Driver Requirements

Driver required – essential. Employee must own a car for rural transport and be able to drive the client’s adapted automatic vehicle.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience with children/young adults with neurological disability.

Desirable

  • Experience and qualifications in caring for young people with severe disabilities.
  • PEG feeding experience.

Role Overview

Tristan is a young man born in 2000 who, due to a birth injury, has complex physical, psychological and communication needs. He is gastrostomy fed and wheelchair dependent. The role involves assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and leisure pursuits to maintain and increase his independence. The Deputy Team Leader supports the Team Leader in running the care team, managing the rota, covering absences, and being on call for staff shortages. The role also includes driving Tristan’s adapted vehicle for community outings. The position suits someone who is calm, proactive, enthusiastic, organised, communicative and compassionate.
