Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview

Fixed‑term/secondment position until 30/05/2027 covering maternity leave. The post is for current Hywel Dda University Health Board staff; pre‑approval of a secondment from the employee’s manager is required.

Full‑time Pharmacy Technician – GPHC registered, or a pre‑registration Pharmacy Technician due to complete training and pending registration – will join the Pharmacy team at Bronglais General Hospital.

Main Responsibilities

• Work as part of ward‑based clinical pharmacy teams.
• Support dispensing, pharmacy store, and procurement functions.
• Provide comprehensive medicines management service to the wards.
• Utilise the All Wales Electronic Discharge System (MTED).
• Adapt to a busy, demanding environment and exercise flexibility to meet service needs.

Key Qualifications

• GPHC registered Pharmacy Technician, or pre‑registration Pharmacy Technician with imminent registration.
• Experience or training in clinical pharmacy, dispensing, and medicines management.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills; fluency in Welsh is desirable but not essential – English and/or Welsh speakers welcome.

Eligibility & Sponsorship

All applicants must currently be employed by Hywel Dda University Health Board. Non‑UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship for a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa.

Location

Bronglais General Hospital – Aberystwyth, District General Hospital with approximately 170 beds.
