Job Title: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist – Maternity Leave Cover

Location: Kestrel House School – London N8 9EA

Salary: Up to £53,200 pro-rata DOE

Contract: Term‑time only, fixed term until end of Spring term 2027 (potential permanent)

Role Overview

You will join the in‑house clinical team at Kestrel House School, delivering bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. Work will be conducted in line with OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, collaborating with multidisciplinary staff and supporting pupil independence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver OT assessment and intervention for pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs.
  • Maintain a caseload and provide clear, concise report writing.
  • Work collaboratively with education teams and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
  • Valid and up to date HCPC registration.
  • Registered member of the RCOT.
  • Experience providing OT services within a similar educational setting.
  • Experience working with neurodivergent pupils and/or those with learning, socio‑emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Sound knowledge of OT theory and its practical application.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary work and service collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently.
  • Clear and concise report writing skills.
  • Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI training preferred but not essential).
