Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Drake Hall, a women’s closed prison located near Eccleshall in Staffordshire with around 340 female inmates. The Pharmacy is a centralised dispensary based within the healthcare department.
Hours
- Monday – Sunday service
- 33 hours per week
- 7:15 am – 7:15 pm
- 12 week rolling rota
Salary
Annual salary between £29,264 and £33,510 per annum FTE, pro rata, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding quality patient‑centred care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patient feedback.
- Maintain safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records remain at the agreed standard and SOPs are followed.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing as per the health‑in‑justice medicines policy.
- Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Up‑to‑date with continual professional development (CPD).
- Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
Desirable
- Experience in hospital, community, or prison environment.
