Role Summary
Lead and coordinate the school’s SEND provision, taking responsibility for strategic development, intervention planning, staff guidance, and ensuring pupils with additional needs are supported effectively across the school. The role requires working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to create a purposeful, well‑organised provision centred on pupil progress.
Candidate Profile
Experienced and knowledgeable practitioner with a strong understanding of SEND, inclusion and effective school‑based support. Must communicate clearly, build strong working relationships and balance strategic oversight with the day‑to‑day detail needed to make provision work. Committed to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs and confident supporting staff to deliver high‑quality inclusive practice.
Requirements
- SEND Leadership – Proven experience supporting or leading SEND provision within a school setting.
- Strategic Understanding – The ability to contribute to whole‑school SEND planning, intervention, and inclusive practice.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication with staff, parents, external agencies, and wider stakeholders.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Professional Commitment – A strong commitment to inclusion, pupil progress, and the continued development of SEND provision.
