As a Senior care and support worker, you will work in ways which are consistent with the key aims of maintaining dignity and respecting human rights, as well as maximising the independence and potential of individual people to lead rich and fulfilling lives. The nature of the environment requires you to plan and organise, as well as respond to change.

You will work in a way which recognises the abilities and talents of individual people and enable their social, spiritual, recreational, educational and entertainment needs to be met.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the shift and for the overall health and safety of the residents and staff while on duty. Duties include administration of medication, arranging GP and nurse visits, handling queries and delegation of tasks within the staff group .Supporting residents with personal care, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records and supervising a small staff team will also be key parts of the role.

If you do not already hold the Level 3 Diploma in Social Care, all we ask is for your commitment to study the qualification with full support and training from us to help you to develop. Due to the requirements of the role, a Level 2 Diploma in Social Care is required as a minimum for this role.

Due to the nature of the service, flexibility is also important to enhance the team’s ability to deliver care as required.

  • A minimum of a Level 2 Diploma in Social Care.
  • Commitment to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Social Care (full support and training provided).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
