Brake Press Operator
Location: Wakefield
Hours: Rotating shifts – 6:00 am–2:00 pm / 2:00 pm–10:00 pm
We are currently recruiting for Brake Press Operators to join a growing and busy production and fabrication team.
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating brake press machinery to produce precision‑formed components to specification. You will work closely with the wider fabrication team to ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Major Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating brake press machinery
- Bending, forming and shaping sheet metal to specification
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job sheets
- Adjusting machine settings, tooling, and programmes as required
- Conducting quality checks to ensure accurate dimensions and finishes
- Working to production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Supporting general fabrication processes when required
Personal Skills
- Previous experience operating brake press machinery (essential)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment
- Good mechanical understanding and practical skills
- Reliable, punctual, and self‑motivated approach to work
- Ability to work rotating shifts
