Location: DN10 area of Doncaster. Salary up to £41,500 (£20p/hr) for days only. Permanent position.

Our client in the DN10 area of Doncaster are keen to recruit a skilled miller and turner to work on a range of large one-off products for industries including agriculture, heavy plant, on-shore oilfields, renewables and fabrication services.

Responsibilities:

• Manufacture medium sized components using vertical and horizontal milling, drilling, tapping and profile cutting.
• Set up and operate centre lathes for facing, turning, drilling, boring and thread cutting (both internal and external).
• Read drawings and use vernier callipers, micrometres (internal & external) and gauges. Understand speeds and feeds for different materials.
• Work in a spacious workshop with a workforce of welders, fabricators and general machinists, maintaining tight tolerances with steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Qualifications:

• Excellent experience of manufacturing medium sized components using vertical and horizontal milling, drilling, tapping and profile cutting.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating centre lathes for facing, turning, drilling, boring and thread cutting.
• Hands‑on knowledge of speeds and feeds for different materials.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measurement tools such as vernier callipers, micrometres (internal & external) and gauges.
• Preferred: experience with steel (general/mild), stainless steel and aluminium.

Benefits:

• Salary: Up to £41,500 (£20p/hr) plus overtime if wanted.
• Overtime: Paid at x1.5 for anything over 40hrs.
• Shifts: 8am to 5pm Mon – Thurs, finishing at 3pm on Fridays.
