Adoptions Engineer Technician – Sewer Adoptions Team

Role overview

As an Adoptions Engineer Technician, you will act as the main decision maker for the adoption of new sewers on behalf of Severn Trent. Your responsibilities include vetting all new sewer adoption and diversion proposals, managing sites within a specific area, and building relationships with customers in that region.

Key accountabilities

  • Review the design of sewer adoption & diversion proposals to ensure all relevant standards are met.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to our Developer customers every day.
  • Support the delivery of the most efficient and sustainable design solutions to enable the best hydraulic performance available and reduce the need for pumping stations where possible.
  • Work closely with Construction Project Managers to assess and provide options and solutions to developers and consultant engineers to support the successful delivery of sewer adoption and diversion applications.
  • Review sewer diversion proposals to ensure the integrity and performance of the existing network is not compromised, avoiding disruption to existing customers.
  • Technically assess camera surveys of constructed sewers and advise developers of defects to be repaired prior to adoption.

Qualifications & experience

Technical knowledge and experience in sewer engineering is desirable but not essential. In‑house training will be provided for the right candidate. Relevant experience or qualifications in civil or drainage engineering are beneficial. Key capabilities include:
