NRL is currently supporting a respected and forward-thinking organisation in their search for a Mechanical Commissioning Technician to join a key project. This is a pivotal role where you’ll be at the heart of the commissioning process, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safety-focused outcomes. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and professional excellence, this opportunity is ideal for a technician ready to contribute to a project of national significance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead by Example in Safety: Champion a Zero Harm culture by consistently promoting and adhering to nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety standards.
- Commissioning Activities: Carry out testing throughout all stages of commissioning, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Technical Documentation: Support the development of test documentation and assist in the implementation of Field Operating Bulletins (FOBs) and Technical Queries (TQs).
- Third-Party Witness Testing: Perform tests for witnessing by external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and rigour in all procedures.
- Data Management: Record and maintain commissioning data accurately, using completions management systems to support tracking and reporting.
- Temporary Aids Management: Apply and remove Temporary Commissioning Aids (TCAs), ensuring proper documentation and controls.
- Collaborative Engineering Support: Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and work closely with the engineering team to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: Time-served or equivalent background in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, HVAC or piping. Proven commissioning experience is essential.
- Qualifications: Preference for ONC or equivalent, or a clear path to achieving this qualification. IOSH Working Safely or similar certification is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with commissioning tools and platforms such as Go Completions, alongside strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Project Readiness: Ability to perform tasks in line with project schedules and adapt within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- BPSS cleared: or the willingness to undergo clearance.
