You will be working in the Cementation Operating Unit where, for over a century, Cementation Skanska has been a trusted leader in piling and ground engineering. Our breadth of expertise spans every aspect of geotechnical engineering – from micro-piling to diaphragm walls – enabling us to deliver innovative solutions for the most complex challenges.

We are currently looking for a Plater/Welder, located in Bentley, who will manufacture various fabrications to a technical drawing, as directed by the Fabrication Shop supervision.

As the Plater/Welder, you will:

  • Manufacture, modify or repair to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
  • Progress the work / job on a routine basis, from initial inspection to final inspection, in line with the requirements stipulated by the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)
  • Identify materials and tools as required for the job, ensuring continuity of the work
  • Ensure estimated timed jobs and deadlines are met – this may involve extra working hours
  • Complete all relevant paperwork throughout the job to ensure the correct standards are maintained

We are looking for:

  • City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Welding and Fabrication; experience in manufacturing, modifying or repairing plant and equipment to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
  • Coded welder qualification
  • Health and Safety trained – CSCS card
  • Environmental awareness
  • Ability to read technical drawings
