CNC Operator/Machinist

CNC Machinist Setter/Operator – 1 Year Experience Required (Turning/Milling) – Telford – Permanent Role.

Location: Telford

Working hours/Shift:

• Monday-Thursday: Core hours 08:30-15:30 (30-minute lunch), flexible start 06:30, flexible finish up to 17:30
• Friday: Core hours 08:30-12:30 (no lunch), flexible start 06:30, flexible finish up to 14:00

Contracted 39 hours per week with flexibility required based on workload.

Salary: £16.70ph / £33,867pa

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machinery to engineering drawing specifications
• Work from customer specifications and interpret technical drawings
• Use measuring and inspection equipment to ensure component quality
• Edit CNC programs when required
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality standards
• Identify process improvements and collaborate with colleagues

Essential Requirements

• Experience in CNC turning or milling
• Knowledge of HEIDENHAIN, XYZ Potrac, or FANUC systems
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Programming experience beneficial but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Specific Requirements – Turning

• Experience setting and operating CNC turning machines (XYZ Proturan or FANUC preferred)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings

Specific Requirements – Milling

• Experience with CNC milling machines (XYZ Potrac and/or HEIDENHAIN preferred)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
