As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing various welding techniques to join metal parts together according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and be able to work with different types of metal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques
- Set up and operate welding equipment and tools, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding by using various cleaning methods such as grinding, sanding, and chemical baths
- Perform welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding to join metal parts together
- Inspect completed welds for quality and make any necessary repairs or adjustments
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and to meet quality standards
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Continuously seek to improve skills and knowledge in welding techniques and equipment
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Welder
- Knowledge of different welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Familiarity with welding tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
Working Conditions:
This is a full‑time, permanent position located in England, UK. The working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional overtime as needed. The job may require standing for extended periods, working in various weather conditions, and lifting heavy objects. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
