Job Description:

CNC Machinists(Grinders and EDM Operators) required for Weekend Days – 05:45 – 17:45 (Fri–Sun) or Weekend Nights – 17:45 – 05:45 (Fri–Sun) to join awell-established, growing manufacturersupplying high-precision components to theaerospace and power generation industries.

The role

You’ll operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality, precision components, ensuring all work meetsstrict quality and customer standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating CNC3-axis, 5-axis and 7-axisGrindingMachines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification..
  • Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned.
  • Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues
  • Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement.
  • Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager
  • Adherence to all companypolicy’sand procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.
  • Working in full compliance with quality, safety and company procedures

Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator:

  • Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience working with metal components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools.

Desirables:

  • Previous experience in CNC Grinding or EDM is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous.
  • Positive attitude and a keenness to learn.
  • Experience with CNC programme editing or basic G code adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving mindset.
