About us
The School of Engineering has a vacancy for an Automotive Power Generation Technician to join the wider technical team. The post will be based on the university’s Frenchay campus within brand new Engineering facilities, which include two engine test cells and a rolling road. This post is student facing and provides expert technical instruction and support to academics, students and researchers. It is an exciting opportunity to join this enthusiastic team delivering high quality engineering education at UWE.
About you
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of petrol and diesel combustion engines, and an understanding of the developments in hybrid and electrical power technology. Ideally you will have experience of teaching or mentoring, which is a key part of the role, and be comfortable and confident demonstrating systems and equipment groups and individuals. You will enjoy problem solving and be enthusiastic about automotive power generation, with an inquisitive and collaborative attitude toward learning. You may be asked to design, make and assemble test equipment; and, although well supported by others in the technical team, to work on tasks autonomously and without direct supervision.
Location
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
