About Raeon
Custom batteries are inaccessible for too many. From motorbikes to UAVs, boats to robotics and everything in between, we build batteries differently to enable high performance, affordable optimisation.
We’re at the start of our journey. We have experience, innovation and momentum on our side.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a highly proactive and capable contractor to join us as soon as possible for a 4-month contract (with potential to extend). You will be hands on helping us to build cutting edge batteries for a wide range of different application, develop new processes and products and work with new equipment.
This is an opportunity for someone with strong engineering and manufacturing enthusiasm to join a small team of doers supporting a growing business. You will be hands‑on, managing the end‑to‑end process of bringing new machinery online, and you’ll need to be as happy talking to engineers, suppliers, and external contractors to strive for success.
Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome – we are an equal opportunities employer. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you’re interested in where it could take you – we encourage you to apply.
Core Assembly & Prototyping
- Precision Assembly: Proven experience meticulously assembling complex electromechanical systems, prototypes, or battery packs, with a high degree of manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Technical Translation: Ability to read, interpret, and build directly from engineering schematics, CAD models, wiring diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- R&D Adaptability: Comfort working in a dynamic, early‑stage environment where some processes may not be fully defined, showing a willingness to iterate on builds and provide practical feedback to engineering teams.
- Troubleshooting: Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical or electrical faults during the assembly and testing phases.
Data & Documentation
- Rigorous Record‑Keeping: Diligence in recording build metrics, test data, and quality control observations.
- Defect Reporting: Proactive communication in flagging anomalies, out‑of‑spec components, or process inefficiencies to the broader engineering team to drive continuous improvement.
Safety & Lab Management
- Strict Safety Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to environmental health and safety (EHS) standards, particularly concerning high‑voltage systems, lithium‑ion materials, or hazardous chemicals.
- Equipment & Workspace Ownership: Taking pride in maintaining a clean, organised workspace (e.g., 5S methodology) and ensuring all hand tools, power tools, and lab equipment are calibrated and in good working order.
- Advantage: Previous experience with battery development, battery assembly and/or battery testing would be an advantage.
- On‑site Presence: To effectively drive projects on the ground, this role requires working 5 days a week on‑site at our Warwick facility for the duration of the contract with travel to suppliers as required.
