You will start your working day from home, travelling directly to your first job for an 8am start. You’ll be provided with a fully equipped work vehicle, stocked with the tools, building materials, and electrical plant required to carry out your work efficiently. Using a work mobile phone, your daily jobs will be allocated by our Works Planning team. You’ll spend your day travelling across the city, carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks within council properties. Your working day typically finishes at 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 3.30pm on Fridays, giving you more time to spend with family, friends, or to relax. As all work is within city boundaries, travel time is kept to a minimum. Overtime may occasionally be required during evenings or weekends, with plenty of notice provided. You will participate in our Out of Hours Emergency Service, providing emergency repairs to our tenants across the city. About the role You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry and joinery work, including: General carpentry and joinery repairs and maintenance Installation, repair, and maintenance of UPVC windows and doors Diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and safely Working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer care Although this is a lone-working role, you will be fully supported by a friendly and experienced team, with technical guidance available from your Team Leader for more complex work.
