Job Description:

As a Senior Process Technician, you will contribute to the development and validation of 28G optical transceivers by characterizing, analyzing, and documenting product performance. This role plays a critical part in test station development, software integration, laboratory operations, and technical support throughout the product design and development lifecycle.

You will work within the Test and Engineering organization, partnering closely with Test Engineering, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams. The group focuses on high‑speed optoelectronic testing, continuous improvement of test capabilities, and reliable product performance.

Responsibilities

  • Characterize, analyze, document, and present performance results for optical transceivers
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot optoelectronic test stations
  • Participate in the development of new test stations, including equipment characterization and software integration
  • Develop and maintain software architectures for test stations using Python
  • Design and implement front‑end applications and user interfaces (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Integrate database tools into test protocols (e.g., SQL, XML)
  • Establish and maintain documentation control infrastructure (e.g., Git)
  • Maintain and support test applications used across the organization
  • Develop and maintain user and maintenance documentation for test systems
  • Support deployment, implementation, and training of new test software and tools
  • Work with the Test Engineering Lead to develop and refine test protocols
  • Participate in laboratory organization, equipment upkeep, and maintainability initiatives
  • Share observations, investigate technical issues, and propose solutions to engineering teams
  • Train colleagues and provide technical support across the organization as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • College or university degree in Applied Science, Computing Science, Electronics, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience working with optoelectronic, high‑speed electronics, fiber‑optic systems, and laboratory test equipment
  • Proficiency with Python scripting for test automation or data processing
  • Ability to analyze data, synthesize results, and communicate findings effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or supporting automated test stations in an R&D or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with database integration and data management in test environments
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience supporting software deployment and user training
  • Demonstrated leadership in laboratory organization, test methodology improvement, or mentoring others
