EDM Operator – Precision Machining & Process Improvement

Machine Operative – Burnley – £35,200 – days only (Mon‑Fri).

Responsibilities

• Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
• Perform EDM operations using a variety of machines – wiring, sinking, deep hole drilling.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers and CNC programmers to operate the EDM and meet daily production targets.
• Provide methods and technical support to other team members as needed.
• Assist in developing tooling solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of EDM paths, features, and tooling information.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to ensure safe operations.
• Complete production and quality logs documenting actions.
• Contribute new ideas and support current processes to improve productivity.
• Assist in solving manufacturing and quality issues using root‑cause analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings and interpretation.
• Previous experience in manufacturing with EDM equipment and controls (ideal).
• Experience working with CNC‑based machine equipment (desired).
• Strong communication skills across all organisational levels.
