Persona: Mobile worker – contractual hours to be worked from various locations such as resident homes with ad hoc office attendance as required

Job Overview

Join our Repairs Team at L&Q. Our South West London repairs team are looking for skilled Carpenters to join the team on a permanent basis. The area covers Sutton, Croydon, Wandsworth, Merton and surrounding areas. It is essential to have a manual driving licence to carry out this role.

Responsibilities

Our Multi‑trade Carpenters are expected to carry out a range of tasks inclusive of internal and external door fitting, splice repairs, general locksmith, bathroom sub‑floors, bath panels and framework kitchen repairs/refits and other general maintenance repairs. Ideally you will also be able to carry out internal/external window repairs including single and double glazing, repairs to doors, lock refits and repairs. It is important to have effective communication skills, experience of working in a building and/or housing maintenance environment, and knowledge of a varied housing stock. Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to L&Q and as a first line of contact to our residents. We expect our operatives to have outstanding customer service and the ability to deliver a right‑first‑time service, limiting follow‑ons and increasing satisfaction. Core hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm in general. There is the opportunity to earn more from call‑outs and out‑of‑hours service.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sound working trade knowledge and experience
  • Experience gained within a maintenance, site and/or housing environment
  • NVQ or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Health and safety conscious
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Wide range of multi‑trade skills
