KHR is supporting an internationally recognised precision engineering business that is continuing to invest and expand its manufacturing capability. Due to continued growth, the business is looking to hire a skilled and detail‑focused Manual Machinist (Turner) to support this pivotal stage of expansion.

The Role

As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for the manufacture of high‑precision metal components using manual lathes and milling machines, ensuring all parts are produced to tight tolerances, engineering drawings, and strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce precision components
  • Machine small metal parts to exact engineering specifications
  • Work to tight tolerances and high‑quality finish standards
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • Carry out basic inspection of completed components
  • Use measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, and bore gauges
  • Complete relevant production and quality documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures at all times

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining principles
  • Ability to work to very tight tolerances with excellent attention to detailExperience within a machine shop or precision engineering environment (desirable)
  • Strong commitment to quality and safe working practices
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and detail‑focused
  • Occasional travel to client sites may be required (planned in advance, expenses covered)
  • Due to location, a full driving licence is required
