Carver Engineering is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our growing fabrication team. The successful candidate will have previous welding experience within a steelwork, fabrication, or construction environment. This role requires a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity while working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to engineering specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
- Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards
- Work closely with fabricators and other team members to meet production deadlines
- Use welding equipment and tools safely and correctly
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE
Requirements
- Previous experience as a welder in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Competence in MIG welding (other welding processes an advantage)
- Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipStrong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
- Industrial workshop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and dust
- Physically demanding role involving standing for long periods
- Shift work may be required depending on operational needs
Pay range subject to shift pattern –
Monday to Friday
8 hour shift with overtime and weekends available
24 days annual leave
