With almost 496 rooms spanning from one-bedroom apartments to luxurious suites, we host approximately 1600 guests at maximum capacity. We are also a beloved destination for many national sports teams and professional athletes.

The resort is located near La Santa village on the north-western coast of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is an English-speaking resort with the majority of guests from Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Work and responsibilities

Working within the Bike Centre team at Club La Santa, you will be responsible for the daily bike tours and customer service.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Guiding groups of up to 16 people on road or MTB tours (preferably both). The guests’ experience on the tour is a top priority. You will provide clear instructions in the pre-ride briefing and attend to guests who need help or advice during the rides.
  • Providing customer service to guests inside the Bike Centre, such as answering questions, giving route suggestions, and assisting with booking bikes in the CLS app. You will hand over the bikes that have been booked in the app and help with smaller mechanical tasks, such as swapping pedals and saddles, before the bikes are handed out. You will also be responsible for answering questions in the Bike Centre email inbox.
  • Handling rental bookings on our online system, BRM. This includes creating and managing bookings, as well as checking the rented bike in and out for guests.
  • Using our till system, Lightspeed, to process payments for rented bikes and sold items.
  • Performing daily tasks, including opening and closing procedures, washing bikes, and cooperating with the rest of the team to keep the Bike Centre organized, tidy, and clean.

As part of the Green Team, you may be required to work in other areas, such as Sports Booking, morning runs, events, evening entertainment, etc. You will report directly to the In-Charge of the Bike center in Lanzarote and work alongside our bike mechanic team located in the Bike Centre. Additionally, you will be part of the Green Team, which consists of around 70 sports instructors and more than 450 colleagues, making you part of a large hotel operation.

Qualifications

  • Coaching or guiding experience, dealing with larger road bike groups or guiding MTB tours. It would be a plus if you held a coaching Level 1, 2, or 3 qualification in Road Cycling, Mountain Biking, or Triathlon from a recognized Sports Federation.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • First Aid qualification and knowledge of emergency procedures, with the ability to react calmly, quickly, and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Experience with basic cycling maintenance and repairs.
  • Fluent in English. Secondary language of Danish or Spanish would be a plus.

  • Independent. In addition to being a team player, we need you to be capable of working on your own. During quiet periods, you will take the initiative to complete daily tasks.
  • Responsible. You are responsible and self-motivated in both high and low seasons. On guided tours, you will take control and make necessary decisions as you are responsible for guests’ safety during the ride. You follow the Green Team Manual activities standards and have an interest in keeping our areas organized and tidy.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills. You are adept at finding solutions in situations where normal procedures cannot be followed. You have an interest in keeping our areas organized and tidy.

What do we offer

  • Permanent full time contract with 40 hrs. working week and 2 days off.
  • The annual gross salary is 25.020€. 
  • One free lunch will be provided on all working days.
  • Holiday: 30 days a year + 18 extra days of holiday as compensation for work on public holidays including holiday pay.
  • Subsidised shared accommodation at 196.07 € per month (the apartment is shared with another employee and consists of a living room with a small kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom).

Important information for when applying

  • We can only employ people with a passport from the EU community or with a Spanish residencia and work permit.
  • The position will require relocation to Lanzarote if you are not already living here.

  • The minimum period of employment for this job is 9 months, starting with a 2 month probationary period.
  • A clean criminal record and a child protection certificate will be required from new staff upon arrival.
