Fire Door Carpenter

Carry out the installation and remediations of fire doors and passive fire products across the UK, ensuring compliance with manufacturer technical guidance, IFC third‑party accreditation and the latest British and EN standards. Work to high standards under Health & Safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct installation and remediation of fire doors to manufacturer guidance and IFC accreditation.
• Record installations and refurbishments via reporting software, confirming compliance with manufacturer and installation parameters.
• Assist compliant repair and maintenance work in accordance with manufacturer guidance and BS8214.
• Work to surveys, third‑party specifications, risk assessment requirements, insurance and local authority notices.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Ensure safe transportation of door sets from the manufacturer or depot to the site.
• Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the company Health & Safety system.
• Demonstrate understanding and commitment to customer care.
• Assist in application of passive fire stopping (practical experience advantageous).
• Perform manual handling of fire doors to and from the area of installation, ensuring safety of all individuals.
• Remove redundant fire doors for disposal.
• Keep work area and storage area clean and tidy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years proven experience in fire door carpentry to industry standards.
• Flexible to work across single and multiple site locations.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrable manual handling experience and good interpersonal skills.
