Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain, and repair a variety of fixed and mobile plant used in waste handling (e.g., shredders, compactors, screeners, loading shovels, telehandlers).
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults.
Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Support the wider operations team and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a plant fitter/mechanic, ideally within waste management, recycling, quarrying, or a similar heavy industry.
Good understanding of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and basic electrics.
A proactive attitude to fault finding and problem solving.
Full UK driving licence (additional plant tickets an advantage).
