Working in our Data Division

At Open Cosmos, our Data division transforms satellite data into meaningful insights that drive real-world impact. The team delivers all data products generated by Open Cosmos and its partners, curates and develops DataCosmos (our geospatial data platform) and builds integrations that make satellite imagery easy to access and act on.

As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a Technical Product Owner – Onboard Processing Framework (Data) to join the Data team at Open Cosmos.

You’ll help shape and deliver the platform that enables developers and customers to deploy applications directly onto satellite infrastructure, working at the intersection of product, software, and space technology.

What will you be doing?

  • Defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Onboard Processing Framework
  • Managing and prioritising the product backlog in line with customer and business needs
  • Translating market and partner requirements into actionable technical deliverables
  • Working closely with engineering teams to guide delivery, scope, and sprint planning
  • Supporting external developers and partners building applications on the platform
  • Driving the development of SDKs, APIs, documentation, and developer tooling
  • Shaping the developer experience to ensure the platform is intuitive, scalable, and effective
  • Collaborating across engineering, operations, and commercial teams on use cases and go-to-market strategy.
  • Balancing innovation with real-world satellite constraints such as power, bandwidth, and system limitations
  • Gathering feedback and continuously improving the platform and user experience

    What You’ll bring

    • Strong understanding of software systems, architecture, and platform design
    • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear product requirements and priorities
    • Understanding of API-driven platforms, developer tools, and SDK ecosystems
    • Ability to design and improve developer experience (DevEx)
    • Understanding of product lifecycle management, roadmap ownership, and delivery planning
    • Ability to operate across product, engineering, and commercial environments
    • Strong problem-solving skills within complex or constrained technical systems
    • Ability to interpret customer and partner feedback and turn it into product improvements
    • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Understanding of distributed or edge computing concepts and their practical applications

    This role can be based in any of our European Locations.
