An established and expanding organisation within the plant and machinery sector is looking for a skilled Plant Fitter to join its team. The business specialises in supplying, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of construction and industrial equipment for clients across multiple industries. Role Overview

  • Based in Markfield, Leicestershire, supporting both workshop and field-based operations
  • Inspect, service, maintain, and repair a variety of plant and construction machinery
  • Perform both workshop‑based tasks and on‑site repairs as required
  • Utilise a company vehicle provided for business and private use (taxable benefit)
  • Help reduce equipment downtime through proactive maintenance
  • Ensure all machinery meets safety, compliance, and performance standards
  • Conduct planned maintenance, servicing, and repair work on plant equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively
  • Attend customer sites for callouts, breakdowns, and urgent repairs
  • Complete machinery inspections and adhere to safety regulations
  • Prepare accurate service reports, job sheets, and maintenance documentation
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional approach
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet operational deadlines

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, etc.)
  • Confident in diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Good communication, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision

Salary & Benefits

  • £16.50 per hour (based on minimum 42.5‑hour week)
