Carpet and Flooring Fitter

Job Overview

The role of a resort Carpet and Flooring fitter is to install and repair various floor coverings across resort in residential and commercial areas, ensuring measurements are correct, areas prepared, old material disposed of, and new materials laid with a professional finish, attention to detail and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and estimate materials required to complete tasks.
• Prepare the area, remove old materials, clean, level and repair sub floors.
• Lay underlay where required, cut, stretch and secure flooring using grippers, adhesives and tacks.
• Ensure all material laid is in line with Brand Standards.
• Ensure all tasks meet health and safety requirements, including PPE usage, proper handling of machinery, and manual handling adherence.
• Review and adhere to risk assessments.
• Carry out regular safety inspections.
• Support incident response when required.
• Support operational teams with repair needs in residential, commercial areas and events, entertainment and seasonal attractions.
• Maintain tools, materials and parts and stock levels.
• Ensure all items used adhere to Brand standards.
• Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and facilities team.
• Minimise disruption to guests and operations when completing works.
• Undertake any reasonable duties directed by the Butlins leadership team.
• Work in a professional and guest‑focused manner in public areas.
• Provide advice and support to resort departments.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas.
• Work independently, prioritise workload and solve problems.

Qualifications & Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in floorcovering occupations (Construction).
• NVQ Level 3 in floorcovering (desirable).
• NICF registered (desirable).
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands.
