Overview
Due purely to the promotion of our Head of Repairs into a secondment opportunity to support the delivery of a new project across the group, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Repairs & Maintenance to join YHG in a fixed term capacity for a minimum of 18 months as Head of Repairs and Maintenance.
Working in close partnership with the Director of Repairs & Maintenance, the Head of Repairs & Maintenance will play a key role in continuing to drive forward the culture, skills and technologies required to deliver a best in class, high performing, customer first service for all our customers and make a real impact in continuing the delivery of YHG’s in house repair services improvement journey.
What will my working week look like?
You will be home based, living within the Northwest, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office or be out within the region managing the workforce two to three times a week.
What will I be responsible for doing?
- Lead the development and operational provision of our repairs and maintenance offering, ensuring the highest standards of customer care and service delivery are achieved, and that all works are undertaken to the highest standards of quality and safety for all.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Repairs and Maintenance to cascade strategic priorities and business plans throughout the repairs teams and be responsible for the implementation of these key objectives.
- Be the strategic lead to each of the Managers that will operate as your direct reports, providing leadership, guidance, and support as they partner with you to deliver on our business plans, and be that effective sounding board and mentor where needed.
- Shape positive and constructive change within the Repairs and Maintenance division within service delivery, performance, and customer experience, ensuring our Customer Journey continues to strive towards best in class.
- Support the ongoing development of a high performing service by elevating the performance of the repairs and maintenance teams under the right leadership.
What would make me stand out from the crowd?
- What’s key to this role is that experience in leading a sizeable, repairs and maintenance division that also provides you with the insight and understanding of how to implement real change at the operational level, and take our skilled, predominantly field based workforce on the next part of this journey, which will only benefit our customers.
- Ideally you will be an exceptional leader, resilient and keen to lead from the front and champion YHG’s core values. A proven relationship builder, you will be confident communicating at all levels, internally and externally to build positive partnerships with both the wider business and core external partners.
- This role is really suited to someone who believes in being a visible and approachable leader, intuitive to the temperature of the Division and the sector, and how this could impact on both the teams and customers under your care.
What’s in it for me?
In return we offer £75,000 – £85,000 for a 35-hour week, and 29 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.
On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), Private medical Insurance plus an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.
At TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space in Birchwood, Warrington.
