Engineering Workshop Technician x2
Permanent, Full Time, 35 Hours per week.
Salary: Grade 4 £33,276 – £35,791 per annum pro rata (Successful candidates will commence at £33,276 per annum).
Overview
City of Glasgow College is recruiting Engineering Workshop Technicians to join our Technician Team. In this role, you will maintain and repair equipment and machinery, as well as fabricate components. Every day brings something different—from diagnosing faults to machining precision parts and assisting with STEM set‑ups—making this position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in high‑quality workmanship.

Qualifications
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification such as a recognised apprenticeship, HNC/SVQ Level 3, or have equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in a workshop, maintenance, or engineering technician role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Competence in welding and fabrication.
- Confidence and accuracy in operating machining equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.
- Good problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Proven IT skills, including maintaining PPM records and SDS & COSHH folders.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Successful applicants will be subject to a PVG Disclosure Check and Certificate of Good Conduct (as applicable at their own cost).
