About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Machine Operative to join a busy and well‑established automotive components manufacturer based in Ashford. This role is primarily focused on operating a press machine used to cut joints for car gaskets, producing precision components for the automotive industry.
This is a precision based role that requires a high level of accuracy, focus, and attention to detail, as the quality of the finished product depends heavily on correct alignment and machine operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a press machine to cut joints into car gaskets
- Carefully placing gaskets into the machine and aligning them perfectly before pressing
- Ensuring all components meet quality and accuracy standards
- Carrying out regular visual quality checks during production
- Following all health & safety procedures at all times
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Completing production paperwork where required
- Assisting with occasional picking and packing duties (secondary to the main machine work)
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Good hand‑eye coordination
- Comfortable working with machinery after training
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
