The Role

As a Mobile Adaptation Installer you will carry out high‑quality installations, servicing and repairs of vehicle adaptations at customer homes, dealerships and partner locations across the region. This field‑based role requires excellent technical ability, strong organisation and a professional, customer‑focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install a wide range of vehicle adaptations including hand controls, left foot accelerators, steering aids, hoists, access equipment, transfer plates and seating solutions
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on adaptation systems
  • Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance work on installed equipment
  • Read and interpret technical instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Complete all job sheets, installation records and supporting documentation accurately
  • Provide product demonstrations and hand‑overs to customers following installation
  • Liaise professionally with customers, dealerships and internal teams
  • Manage daily workload and appointments effectively
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and company standards
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety when working on‑site and at customer premises

About You

We are looking for someone technically capable, highly organised and passionate about delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in vehicle adaptation installation OR a strong background in vehicle mechanics & auto electrics
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of working on electric vehicles (EVs)
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing regional travel
  • Willingness to stay away overnight when required

Desirable

  • Experience working with mobility or accessibility equipment
  • Knowledge of Motability Scheme processes
  • Previous experience in a field‑based/mobile engineering role
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills
