THE ROLE
The Finance Assistant supports the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting.
This role is key to ensuring strong financial control across all hotel departments, including Rooms, F&B, and operational costs.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with payment runs and maintain AP ageing
- Support invoicing and collections where required
Revenue & Income Audit Support
- Assist with daily revenue checks across Rooms, F&B, and other outlets
- Reconcile POS systems to PMS (e.g. Mews) and accounting system
- Investigate and resolve variances
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Assist with reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
- Support month‑end close process
Financial Reporting
- Support preparation of monthly management accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Control & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures
- Support audit requests (internal/external)
- Maintain organised and audit‑ready documentation
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Preferred
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role (hospitality preferred)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good Excel skills (lookups, basic formulas)
- Experience with accounting systems (SUN) is beneficial
- Experience with PMS/POS systems (e.g. Mews, Adaco, Lightspeed) is an advantage
