Are you an organised and detail-oriented finance professional with a background in transactional processing and accounts administration? We’re recruiting a Finance Operational Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive public sector finance team for a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact work within a respected national organisation that supports workforce development, digital innovation, and operational excellence in the health and care sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work as part of the Governance & Operational Finance Team, supporting the day-to-day management of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Handle expense processing and treasury tasks.
- Perform invoice matching and query resolution.
- Set up customer and supplier accounts.
- Conduct supplier statement reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audit reviews.
- Rotate tasks with two other colleagues to ensure efficient, accurate processing and service delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a finance or business support role.
- Knowledge of invoice processing and basic accounting principles.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workloads independently.
- Strong customer service approach and excellent communication skills.
- A flexible, proactive, and values-driven attitude.
Desirable
- Experience in at least two of the following: Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Payroll, Treasury, Expenses.
- Familiarity with eFinancials, PECOS, or similar finance systems.
- Experience within healthcare, social care, or education sectors.
- Knowledge of GDPR and handling sensitive data appropriately.
