Salary £25K DOE + Benefits.We are looking for a Purchase Ledger clerk to join our prestigious Finance team at Metro Rod Support Centre (Macclesfield). This is a full-time permanent position (8:30am – 5pm).
What does it entail?
You will carry out all purchase ledger maintenance, ensuring prompt and accurate checking, coding and logging of invoices, and issuing payments to suppliers, whilst contributing towards achieving financial targets and corporate objectives. You will liaise with external clients and franchisees within the network, serving as a key point of contact for any initial and ongoing enquiries and building lasting relationships. This role would suit someone who has previous experience within a similar role and can hit the ground running.
What do we look for?
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot tables, lookups etc.)
- Knowledge of IT and preferably financial systems
- Great telephone manner with the ability to speak calmly and confidently to suppliers chasing payment
- Self‑motivated
- Positive and inquisitive manner
- Ability to work accurately on an independent basis
- Great attention to detail
- Experience of dealing with high volumes of work
