Private Banking Assistant (London)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised, client‑focused professional to join a leading international private banking client. About the Role

As a Private Banking Assistant, you will provide day‑to‑day support to Private Bankers across a broad range of operational, administrative and client‑facing activities. You’ll act as a key point of contact for clients, assist with account lifecycle processes, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to a smooth and efficient client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Private Bankers with all client account administration from opening through to closure.
  • Process client instructions including payments, trades and corporate actions.
  • Monitor client accounts daily, including cash management, overdrafts, and open trades.
  • Maintain accurate client documentation and ensure timely resolution of any outstanding items.
  • Review risk dashboards and act on alerts ahead of deadlines.
  • Prepare pitches, presentations and fee simulations for client meetings.
  • Participate in remediation exercises, regulatory projects and process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support and cover for other team members during peak periods or absences.
  • Uphold conduct expectations and consistently act to deliver good customer outcomes.

Experience Required

  • RDR Level 4 (or willingness to achieve within six months).
  • Previous experience in a private banking, wealth management or financial services environment.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural, international setting.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with clients.
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to prioritise competing demands.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive relationships across departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of private banking products and account types (corporate and personal).
  • Good understanding of major asset classes (equities, bonds, alternatives).
  • Familiarity with FCA compliance expectations and private banking operational processes.
